Qualifications:

  • AMI Montessori Diploma required

Job Description:

The lead guide is responsible for maintaining a beautifully and thoughtfully prepared environment in accordance with AMI Montessori standards and training.

As an authentic Montessori school, Highlands Montessori believes in fostering independence, self-confidence, and a lifelong love for learning.

This is a full time, salaried position. Highlands Montessori offers ~24 paid holidays/year as well as 12 days of PTO/year. Lead guides and assistants also receive an additional 2 weeks off in the summer.
 

Duties:

The general duties of the lead guide shall include, but shall not necessarily be limited to the following:

  • Prepare a developmentally appropriate AMI Montessori environment in line with AMI Primary Training

  • Rotate materials regularly based on observation of needs and interests of community

  • Respect each child’s unique development, always seeing the child who is “not yet there”

  • Prepare appropriate lessons for each child based on observation

  • Monitor student progress (academic, motor, social-emotional)

  • Train assistant guide in Montessori philosophy and maintain open communication with all staff

  • Establish positive relationships with the children and families

  • Speak to children in a respectful tone in line with the Montessori philosophy
     

Job Type: Full-time
 

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year

Highlands Montessori is continuously accepting applications for on-call substitute teachers.  All substitute teachers must be group leader qualified.
